What is your definition of beauty? What does beauty mean to you?
Nowadays, real beauty is vulnerability, humanity. Especially because there’s not much [of that] lately. So vulnerability and humanity
Is there an artist, an art piece, a sculpture or any sort of art that really resonates as beautiful with you?
I always admired [the way] Modigliani [painted] eyes, and how he portrayed his partner in life. His search for beauty, trying to find beauty inside of people. That research that he put into his art.
When you close your eyes do you have a moment or a memory of beauty that comes to mind?
I think about my mother. I think about my values, the values that make you powerful and beautiful.
Is there a smell that you associate with beauty?
Lavender.
How about a sound?
Since, in this moment, we’re at the beach, I would probably answer the sound of the ocean.
A taste?
I have to answer as an Italian - L’Amatriciana [a pasta sauce made with tomatoes, guanciale and pecorino].
A touch?
A flower petal.
What does beauty look like?
A child smiling.
What would you say is important to add to the discourse on beauty right now?
The meeting of cultures, different tastes, and the desire and the will to see beauty, to see it.
